Brad Johnson started the band in 1998 on the U.S.S. Tarawa in the Middle East. He was serving in the United States Marine Corps. He and the band were just Killin’ Time until they got to go home. SEE OUR NEWSLETTER CCW celebrated its second year anniversary in late November 2015. We’ve come so far since our tasting room first opened in late November 2013. We started with only three wines, “Silver Spurs” Chardonnay, “8 Second Ride” Sangiovese, and “Pardners” Meritage Bordeaux blend; we sold out of all of three before the end of our first year…New vintages of all three were released in ’15 bringing smiles from all you Pardners…We hit the motherlode of beautiful grapes, just the way we like them, from Sonoma to make our sophomore year of our inaugural wines a big success…Continue Reading..

We upped the capacity by 50% and still sold out…The barbecue and the music set the tone, the dancing, Cowboy Canyon wine, Jason showing us all how to line dance and Aaron Pax Taylor being in rare form with his guitar and great voice kept the party going and going going…The folks just didn’t want to leave…and that’s OK…Next Cowboy Cookout is Friday June 3rd…Please get your tickets now two thirds of our capacity is already sold…This time Aaron Pax Taylor is bring a full band.  LIKE US ON FACEBOOK

I had a great time on the radio KOCI 101.5 FM Sunday Brunch with Lynn & Tom, they’re on every Sunday at 11:00 AM. This show was broadcast as a remote from The Cannery restaurant in Newport Beach. Lynn Selich’s  Co-host’s name was Tom then Lynn waved to another guy “Hi Tom” then two Gentlemen walked in and introduced themselves as Captain Tom & Captain Tom…..I was surrounded by Toms. The interview went really well and all the Toms and a few others wanted my business card. One of the Captain Toms came into the winery the next week and joined our “Pardners” wine club. All in all a success and a hoot Listen Here

Although the property is beautiful and the music is great, it’s the wines that makes the folks stay. Chemistry can help one produce okay wines but great fruit produces great wines, it’s as simple as that. That’s why winemakers Chad Kearns & Michael Cipolla use the very best fruit available to make their wines. They insist on only making small batches so that they can give proper attention to every barrel. So come on by and enjoy the beautiful hundred year old oak trees and gaze at the surrounding foothills experience the serenity of the rural setting…..but stay, my friends, stay, for the wine.

Right next door to Giracci/Cowboy Canyon Winery is Circle S Ranch. Most Saturdays throughout the spring and summer you can watch real cowboys and cowgirls compete. The summer’s weekly competitions finale  with the end of summer “Buckle Run” event where the cows are running and the cowboys are chasin’ all to win the coveted championship Silver and gold buckle. All of this goes really good with Cowboy Canyon Wine….what else!?

Wine Tasting at Cowboy Canyon Winery is just a hoot. Besides our great wines, we have country concerts continually playing on our flat screen, speakers outside so you can listen while you’re sippin’ while seated at one of our wine barrel tables. The property is beautiful and our sister winery, Giracci Vineyards, is just steps away, you can go and taste their wines too. So, bring some munchies and spend the day.
